ECHO5 Propeller Guide: Six HQProp and ETHIX Options

ECHO5 Propeller Guide: Six HQProp and ETHIX Options

ODD SELECT / VOL.05

Which propellers should you compare for an OddityRC ECHO5?

OddityRC's ODD SELECT guide groups J40 for cinematic builds; J37, ETHIX RAD Berry P3.5 and Mango Lassi P3.3 for versatile freestyle setups; and J33 or J35 for close-proximity freestyle. These are application-based starting points. Final choice depends on the motors, battery, camera payload and tune.

ODD SELECT is OddityRC's curated range of third-party RC and maker hardware. These guides explain why products were selected, where they fit and what to check before choosing.

The OddityRC ECHO5 Frame Kit is specified for 4.9–5.1-inch props. The six options below fall within that nominal diameter range; shaft fit, hub thickness and clearance still need checking on the assembled aircraft.

Quick comparison: six ECHO5 prop options

Application direction Propeller at OddityRC Diameter × pitch × blades
Cinematic HQ Juicy Prop J40 5.1 × 4.0 × 3
Versatile freestyle HQ Juicy Prop J37 4.9 × 3.7 × 3
Versatile freestyle ETHIX RAD Berry P3.5 5.1 × 3.5 × 3
Versatile freestyle ETHIX Mango Lassi P3.3 5.1 × 3.3 × 3
Close-proximity freestyle HQ Juicy Prop J33 4.9 × 3.3 × 3
Close-proximity freestyle HQ Juicy Prop J35 4.9 × 3.5 × 3

Diameter and pitch are in inches. Dimensions are published product specifications; the application groups express OddityRC's selection guidance, not comparative flight-test results.

Why compare J40 for cinematic builds?

J40 is our starting point for ECHO5 builds configured around an action camera and cinematic flying. HQProp lists a 5.1-inch diameter, 4-inch pitch and three blades in its J40 specifications.

Compare it with the intended camera and battery fitted. Prop dimensions alone cannot establish payload capability, footage quality or flight time.

How do J37, RAD Berry and Mango Lassi differ?

J37 is 4.9 inches in diameter with 3.7-inch pitch. Both ETHIX options are 5.1 inches in diameter, with 3.5-inch pitch for RAD Berry and 3.3-inch pitch for Mango Lassi. The ETHIX specifications appear in HQProp's 5.1-inch range.

These provide different combinations to compare for everyday freestyle. Blade shape and mass also influence flight behavior, so pitch alone cannot predict throttle feel or efficiency.

Why group J33 and J35 for close-proximity freestyle?

J33 and J35 share a 4.9-inch diameter and differ in pitch: 3.3 and 3.5 inches respectively. Our grouping gives pilots two nearby options to evaluate for tighter lines. It does not establish that either is inherently more precise or safer near obstacles. Refer to the manufacturer specifications for J33 and J35.

Frequently asked questions

What propeller size does ECHO5 support?

The ECHO5 product specification lists 4.9–5.1 inches. Check the completed build for clearance and a secure motor-shaft attachment.

Does P3.3 mean a 3.3-inch propeller?

No. ETHIX Mango Lassi P3.3 has a 5.1-inch diameter and 3.3-inch pitch. Model names should not be treated as diameter specifications.

How should I compare two props on the same ECHO5?

Keep the motors, battery type, camera payload and tune consistent where practical. Start with short flights, inspect for vibration and check motor temperatures before extending the comparison.
