OddityRC Vortex F65: A Single-ESC Layout with AM32

OddityRC Vortex F65 ESC (AM32) — product introduction

The Vortex F65 is an AM32 single ESC rated at 65A continuous with 2–6S LiPo input. It is a product to consider when a build benefits from placing an ESC near each motor or when controlling a single motor in a compatible RC project. Choose its layout for the aircraft or vehicle you are building, then confirm the electrical requirements.

Separate ESCs change the wiring plan

A single ESC lets you choose its location independently of the flight controller. In a multirotor, that also means planning several ESC units, their power distribution and signal connections. Consider wire routing and service access together rather than selecting the layout from the current rating alone.

The product lists 10–13-inch FPV, fixed-wing, boat and car applications. Those are starting points for evaluation, not a universal match for every motor in those categories. Check the motor, propeller or drivetrain, supply voltage, control protocol and cooling arrangement as a complete system.

Count the power rails as well as the amps

The 5V 2A BEC is relevant to peripheral power planning. Determine which device is being powered and how the rest of the build distributes regulated power. A four-ESC installation needs a deliberate power arrangement; do not assume that multiple regulated outputs should simply be connected together.

For the motor load, compare the continuous rating with sustained demand and reserve the 75A figure for its stated ten-second condition. The supplied aluminium heatsink and the installed airflow both matter to the thermal arrangement. Test the finished installation under controlled conditions before drawing conclusions about its margin.

Order the item that matches your layout

The page offers individual and multi-piece ESC options, a PDB option and a kit combining ESCs with a PDB. Read the selected variant rather than assuming every option contains an ESC or a complete set for a quad. A package quantity and an electrical configuration are separate choices.

For firmware work, the official AM32 project provides the configuration ecosystem. Match updates to the exact hardware target and preserve the existing setup. A programming tool is useful for configuration access; it is not a power-system upgrade by itself.

Before you choose

  1. Decide single-ESC quantity and power distribution first.
  2. Match battery, motor load, protocol and cooling.
  3. Select the ESC or kit variant intentionally.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PDB variant include a single ESC?

Do not infer that from the page title. The listing has separate PDB and ESC-kit selections; check the chosen option and contents.

Is 75A the continuous current rating?

No. The listed continuous rating is 65A; 75A is specified for ten seconds.

Can PM90 be useful with F65?

For a compatible controlled test, PM90 can record the DC input load. Verify the whole test current and connections, especially if measuring several ESCs together.
